01/11/2009 Tarres on pole

What a fantastic weekend at the Paul Ricard HTTT circuit. The track has been very busy with beautiful vintage cars gathered by the F1 Historic Series, CHE, ASAVE, SG and GT to name a few. The GT90's Revival Series competitors had very smooth free practices and qualifying sessions under pleasantly warm weather for the season. The Tarres Auto Saleen S-7 entered by Maurice Tarres and Florent Moulin set the best qualifying time and will start from pole position for both races tomorrow. Espace Racing Chrysler Viper raced by Franck Labescat and Christian Philippon made 2nd and 3rd best time for both qualifying 1 and 2 followed by CERT99 Porsche 993 driven by Patrick Milesi, the current leader of the 2009 season who made the 3d and 2nd best time respectfully.

Sadly Springbok Motorsport Chrysler Viper suffered mechanical issues which prevented Franck Jacob, the 2008 Champion, from competing today. The Chrysler Viper had already technical problems in Dijon earlier in the season and a new engine was actually installed before this event.

The Lister Storm entered by Bobby Verdon-Roe had a caliper brake failure which has unabled Scuderia BVR to demonstrate the potential of the beautiful car.

Tomorrow will be an important day for all the competitors, with both races scheduled in the morning and competing for the best results but most importantly for the 2009 title.
